As a teacher with 28 years of experience, my expertise is working with students who have been diagnosed with dyslexia, as well as those that are struggling with any literacy or writing components.

When students walk into my office, before we do any of this important work, it is my priority to connect with them. I help them understand that I know about their struggles and that together we can make changes so they can feel successful.  I draw on my students' strengths and we set goals together.  It is my honor to do this work. There is nothing better than watching a love of learning develop for a child and subsequently improve their self-esteem and love for school!

Since 2005, I've been working with Poudre School District in Colorado, focusing on students learning English as a new language and those requiring extra literacy assistance. I'm proficient in both English and Spanish.

I hold certification from the Academy of Orton-Gillingham, a program endorsed by the International Dyslexia Association. I underwent intensive training at CU Boulder, followed by a supervised practicum before applying for certification through IDA. To stay current, I regularly attend conferences and training sessions, ensuring I renew my certification each year.
